The Reverend George Philip, the former minister of Sandyford Henderson Church, Glasgow, died recently. His funeral will take place on the 1st of March at his former church. He had a huge impact on the church in Scotland that will continue for decades to come. He has now entered into that rest which he longed for.

President Theodore Roosevelt used to have a pet dog that was always getting into fights and being beaten by other dogs. A reporter once asked the president about that. The reporter stated, ‘Your dog is not much of a fighter, is he, Mr President?’ Roosevelt replied, ‘That is not true. He is a wonderful fighter! He is just a poor judge of dogs.’

Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Margaret and I’m the marketing assistant at CFP. I (try to) coordinate our marketing efforts and make sure as many people as possible hear about our books and tell other people about them. I also spend a lot of time on Twitter, Facebook, & Instagram.
The worship offered to God in most churches on Sunday needs updating. It needs to become more contemporary, but not in the way most people think. When I talk about the need for more contemporary worship in our churches, I am not thinking in terms of bands versus orchestras, or worship teams versus choir, or even throwing out the hymnal. The update has to do with who we worship, not how we worship.

There are times in life when things can get so bad that running away seems like the best and only solution. That is why each and every day people quit their jobs, file for divorce, leave the ministry, or drop out of school. They have run out of steam and so they run. They envy the very birds that are flying overhead and wish that they too could migrate to another warmer and sunnier place.

Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Kate MacKenzie and I’ve had a few job titles at Christian Focus. For a number of years, I worked in the editorial department and am currently working in marketing.
What is your favourite thing about what you do?
